Genealogical research pertaining to Loudoun County, Va. [manuscript], 1757-1986.

The collection includes 21 bound notebooks, 14 of which list alphabetically all known whites who lived in Loudoun County prior to 1900. The others contain research on Northern Neck and Loudoun County land patents; lists of Loudoun County heads of families, 1810, and wills, 1757-18990; research on County estate names; indexes of names appearing on the Yardley Taylor map and in V.V. Purcell's account book, 1842-1847; and miscellaneous research. In addition there are modern hand-drawn plats of Loudoun County, Va., properties; tombstone inscriptions from Old Ebenezer Cemetery by Welby Sowers and Mary Alice Wertz and Old Bethesda Methodist Cemetery by Inez Harrison Beavers; copies of land patents concerning the Fairfax grants; notes concerning county deed, patent and order books; and miscellaneous notes about Loudoun County history. There are also some notes concerning Prince William and Fairfax County deeds for areas that later became Loudoun County.
